The team play a vital role in ensuring the food we eat is safe, and that infectious diseases are appropriately identified and controlled. We carry out essential border checks on controlled imports such as imported food, ship sanitation control and certification, food safety and water quality and infectious disease control.
We ensure safe food is coming through Europe’s busiest ferry port and onto the shelves of shops and supermarkets across the country.
